After undergoing an MRI scan, Myla Pablo breathed a huge sigh of relief as her right foot injury proved to be nothing serious.
The two-time PVL Most Valuable Player sustained a metatarsal sprain in the match between Motolite and Petro Gazz on Sunday. It was when she went for an attack approach that her right ankle buckled, causing her to fall to the ground.
As in bumigay, lumabas ang buto ko pero naibalik naman,” recalled Pablo, who finished with 10 points before getting stretchered off the court early in the second set.
Pablo disclosed that her injury would only require several days of rest. She was even in attendance at the FilOil Flying V Centre on Wednesday — the eve of her 26th birthday — to show support for her team, Motolite.
The 5-foot-10 outside hitter is expected to return in the second round.
For now, Motolite is leaning on the Iris Tolenada-powered offense that has been working wonders for Tots Carlos, Isa Molde, and Bern Flora – to name a few.
Motolite is tied with Petro Gazz in the second spot as both teams hold identical 5-2 cards.
