MPL: Rapidoot sensational as new-look ONIC escapes Bren

Ralph “Rapidoot” Adrales’ Atlas came up clutch in Game Three to lead the revamped ONIC PH to a 2-1 win over Bren Esports in the MPL Philippines Season 10 campaign, Saturday at the ICIte Auditorium.

After wiping all of ONIC PH’s turrets, Bren Esports already set its eyes on the base to complete the reverse sweep but a late setup coming from Rapidoot completely turned the tides around.

Entering the 14th minute of Game Three, the ONIC PH skipper flickered in to complete a crucial four-man Fatal Links and keep his side alive. That play resulted in a four-man wipe and a Lord kill that sealed the 2-1 series win.

“Actually po kasi yung situation na mga ganun, kahit sa scrims nangyayari. The thing is yung composition namin is for team fights and late game and yung Bren is early harass talaga. We expected na talagang mahihirapan kami sa early phase ng laro,” said ONIC PH coach Kevin “Bluffzy” Delos Reyes.

“Good thing yung puso nandoon pa rin and then nakuha namin yung momentum so ayun,” he added.

Entering the 15th minute of Game One, Nowee “Ryota” Macasa (Chou) was able to pick off Jomarie “Jowm” Pingol’s Claude while the rest of ONIC PH secured the second Lord of the contest.

With Bren Esports’ main source of damage out, ONIC PH managed to take down the top and bottom inhibitor turrets while Ryota once again came up with another Way of the Dragon-Flicker combo this time on Vincent “Pandora” Unigo’s Akai to kick-start the game-winning clash.

Frince “SUPER FRINCE” Ramirez spearheaded the 11-5 Game One win in 15 minutes and 58 seconds with four kills and seven assists against a death while Ryota finished with a clean 3-0-6 KDA line.

Bren Esports showed signs of life in the second match and secured the second Lord of the contest entering the 13th minute en route to a turret-wiping siege. The M2 World Champions then bagged the third Lord and took out SUPER FRINCE’s Mathilda to secure the win.

Kyle “KyleTzy” Sayson’s Paquito led Bren Esports with three kills, a death, and an assist in the 6-8 come-from-behind Game Two win.

ONIC PH will face ECHO on Sunday at 8:00 PM to cap off the opening week while Bren Esports will take on TNC earlier that day at 6:00 PM.
