TNC moved up to the second spot, scoring a 2-0 victory to dim Nexplay EVOS’ playoff push in MPL Philippines Season Nine on Saturday.
The team improved to 27 points off a 9-5 standing.
With Robee “Yasuwo” Pormocille’s Paquito leading the charge, TNC initiated a massive ambush inside Nexplay EVOS’ jungle.
Yasuwo came in first from the left side, forcing Emanuel “Elpizo” Candelaria’s Selena to flicker beside Mariusz “Donut” Tan’s Clint. This allowed Mark “Kramm” Rusiana’s Valentina and Daniel “SDzyz” Chu’s Ling – who entered from the back – to pick off Elpizo and Donut, respectively.
The TNC gold laner then took out Michael “MP the King” Endino. That then paved the way for TNC to secure the Luminous Lord and finish the match.
Yasuwo finished with four kills and four assists against just one death in the 10-4 Game One victory in just 14 minutes and 54 seconds. Ben “Benthings” Maglaque’s Lolita had a game-high eight assists laced with a kill and a death.
SDzyz had three kills and six assists also without a death.
Already in full control of the map entering the 13th minute of Game Two, TNC went for the Luminous Lord. It took out the objective with ease after Nexplay EVOS decided to not contest.
During the siege, Nexplay EVOS lured TNC out of their base but lost Kenneth “CADENZA” Castro (Jawhead), Jeff “S4gitnu” Subang (Yu Zhong), and MP the King (Ling) in the process. TNC eventually went for the push to close the series.
Jomarie “Escalera” Delos Santos’ Valentina finished with four kills, two deaths, and three assists. Benthings’ Lolita had two kills and five assists in the 8-5 Game Two win in 14 minutes and 37 seconds.
With the loss, Nexplay EVOS (5-8, 16 points) must at least get a point in its final match against ECHO. That, or hope that Omega Esports win its match against Blacklist International.
TNC will face Bren Esports tomorrow at 6:00 PM for its final match in the regular season. On the other hand, Nexplay EVOS will look to save its season against ECHO later that day at 8:00 PM.
