SBP unveils 20-man Gilas pool for Window 5

A mixture of Philippine Basketball Association, University Athletic Association of the Philippines, and overseas imports will compose the Window 5 pool of Gilas Pilipinas.

Well-represented will be the country’s premier domestic league as players from TNT, Ginebra, San Miguel, Meralco, and Northport are part of the pool.

Called up were the Barangay’s Scottie Thompson, Japeth Aguilar, and Jamie Malonzo; the Beermen’s June Mar Fajardo and CJ Perez; the Tropang Giga’s Calvin Oftana and Poy Erram; Meralco’s Chris Newsome; and the Batang Pier’s William Navarro and Arvin Tolentino.

Fajardo and Newsome though are questionable for the November window as both are nursing injuries.

For the UAAP, called up were Ateneo’s Angelo Kouame, UP’s Carl Tamayo, and La Salle’s Kevin Quiambao. Free agent Francis Lopez was also added to the pool.

The UAAP will have an international break to accommodate the tournament.

Completing the pool are Adelaide’s Kai Sotto, Shiga’s Kiefer Ravena, Hokkaido’s Dwight Ramos, San-En’s Thirdy Ravena, and Nagoya’s Bobby Ray Parks.

The Philippines will take on Saudi Arabia and Jordan on the road.
