Meneses emphasizes one-game-at-a-time approach in AFC 4-peat quest

Creamline is hard at work as it tries to clinch its fourth consecutive All-Filipino Conference in the Premier Volleyball League.

Fresh from winning their third AFC crown last December, Cool Smashers head coach Sherwin Meneses said that they will take things one game at a time as they look to extend their dominant run in the upcoming conference.

“Yung goal naman lagi ng Creamline talaga is mag-champion. Pero tanong nga paano gagawin? One point at a time lang kami, trabaho lang, preparation,” said Meneses.

“Kung sino yung kalaban magpe-prepare kami nang mabuti. Hopefully, maging maganda yung result ng mga games namin,” he added.

Creamline will open its All-Filipino Conference four-peat drive against Farm Fresh on Saturday, 6:00 PM at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Well aware of the improved field they are about to face in this conference, Meneses said that the Cool Smashers are working doubly in the off-season in hopes of defending their All-Filipino streak that started in the 2022 Open Conference.

“Yung preparation naman this conference, almost the same lang last conference. Lagi lang namin tinitraining na mabawasan yung mga errors namin, yung mga basic error. And syempre talagang yung ibang team nagpalakas sila, so ready naman kami this conference,” he said.

The multi-titled coach also shared that Bea De Leon and Denden Lazaro-Revilla, the team’s two key additions in the off-season, are blending well with the rest of the Cool Smashers.

“Syempre ‘di ganun kabilis yung pag-adapt pero going there naman yung ginagawa namin para sa kanila. Syempre napaka-importante ng time para maadapt yung sistema pero sa tingin ko sobrang bilis nila makakaadapt kasi mga veteran player na sila.”
