Mark Parks ignited an early onslaught as Pasay dismantled Imus, 109-70, in the 2026 MPBL season on Monday evening at the Cuneta Astrodome.
The 6-foot-5 Parks—son of the late legendary import Bobby Parks Sr. and younger brother of Bobby Ray, who currently plays for Osaka in the B.League—sparked a 21-point opening barrage by the Voyagers, setting the tone for their third win in five outings.
A former standout for the National University Bulldogs, Parks finished with 21 points and two assists in just 13 minutes and 50 seconds of action, earning SportsPlus Best Player honors.
Christian Fajarito backed him up with 11 points, three rebounds, and two assists, while Cyril Gonzales added 10 points, three rebounds, and two assists. Steve Nash Enriquez orchestrated the offense with eight points, 14 assists, three rebounds, and three steals.
Pasay stretched the lead to 84-41 early in the fourth quarter, sealing Imus’ third loss in five games. Jaypee Belencion paced the Yangkees with 25 points, five rebounds, and three assists, while Ralph Robin chipped in 19 points, three rebounds, and two steals.
In another lopsided contest, the Gensan Warriors turned a close game into a rout, blasting the Iloilo United Royals, 120-68, to remain unbeaten and share the league lead.
Holding a slim 47-42 edge, Gensan unleashed a decisive 20-point surge in the third quarter—seven of which came from Joshua Fontanilla—to break the game wide open and improve to 5-0, matching the Caloocan Batang Kankaloo in the round-robin elimination phase of the 28-team tournament.
Hesed Gabo delivered the tournament’s first triple-double with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists, along with two steals, to claim SportsPlus Best Player honors. Mark Cruz led all scorers with 23 points—19 coming in the fourth quarter—on top of two rebounds and two assists.
Fontanilla finished with 13 points, six assists, three rebounds, and two steals, while Eloie Tan contributed 12 points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals. JM Versoza registered 10 points and eight rebounds, and Anton Eusebio added 10 points and five boards.
Iloilo, which dropped to 1-4, drew 15 points from Levi Hernandez, 13 from Jasper Longalong, and 10 from Art Aquino.
Earlier, the Quezon City Black Bulls continued their ascent with a 93-83 victory over the Bacolod Masskaras in the opener.
Behind Ryan Cosetelo and Kobe Monje, Quezon City built a comfortable 79-68 lead before Bacolod threatened, trimming the deficit to 79-74 with 3:38 remaining. The Black Bulls, however, responded with a decisive closing run, with Cosetelo, Monje, and CJ Agoncillo putting the game out of reach to secure their third straight win after an 0-2 start.
MJ Joson, a prized recruit from Manila Central University, earned SportsPlus Best Player honors after flirting with a triple-double, tallying six points, 14 rebounds, and 14 assists along with three steals.
