Lucero receives offers from T1, P.League+ teams

Will Zavier Lucero be a one-and-done for University of the Philippines?

It is a possibility.

The 6-foot-6 high-flying forward has received two offers to play in either Taiwan’s T1 League or the P.League+.

Multiple sources closely monitoring the situation bared the development to Tiebreaker Times.

According to a couple of sources, Lucero – who is currently in the States – had already talked to the two teams, which remain disclosed, via an online meeting on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old wants to stay with the Fighting Maroons, but also needs to “explore his options.”

T1 has been a hotbed for Filipino-American cagers, with Jason Brickman playing in Kaohsiung.

Also playing in the upstart league are Jordan Heading (Taichung), Caelan Tiongson (Taoyuan), and Avery Scharer (New Taipei).

Unlike in the T1 though, P.League+ does not have an Asian import slot.

If Lucero decides to play there, he will be a world import as each team is allowed to have three foreign players.

In his first of two years with UP, Lucero averaged 12.16 points, 7.73 rebounds, 1.57 assists, 1.21 steals, and 1.0 blocks per contest, making it to the All-UAAP team.
