Liquid ECHO clinches second MPL PH title in three seasons, sweeps Falcons AP.Bren

Team Liquid ECHO delivered their most dominant performance when it mattered most, sweeping Falcons AP.Bren 4-0 in the grand finals of MPL Philippines Season 13 on Sunday at SM Southmall.

It was Liquid ECHO’s second grand finals sweep in the MPL Philippines after also achieving the same scoreline against Blacklist International for their first title in Season 11.

“Tingin ko maganda rin yung preparation nila against samin pero sadyang maganda lang pinakita namin ngayon saka nung mga bata. Pati na rin sa drafting,” said head coach Archie “Tictac” Reyes about their grand finals victory.

Game 1 boiled down to a 13th-minute Lord dance where Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno (Fredrinn) secured the Lord objective, followed by Frederic “Bennyqt” Gonzales’s double kill that resulted in a game-winning 4-0 wipe.

In Game 2, Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya (Paquito) went on a rampage early, exploding for a 3-0-1 KDA by the 5th minute to help TLPH establish a 2.5k net worth lead with a commanding 5-0 kill score spread.

The M4 World Champions continued their tear and concluded the match late in the 17th minute with a 16-6 kill score, led by Bennyqt’s 6-0-5 KDA.

It was then Alston “Sanji” Pabico’s time to shine in Game 3, as his exploits with the Valentina pick helped Liquid ECHO reach match point with a 17-minute victory. He finished with a spotless 2-0-7 KDA to bag the game MVP award.

Sanji then emerged with the championship-winning play, outplaying Marco “Super Marco” Requitiano (Roger) in a crucial team fight in the 18th minute of Game 4 to force a 5-4 wipeout and secure the title.
