Letran alum throws bottle at Knights staff during La Salle hymn

An alumnus of Colegio de San Juan de Letran displayed unruly behavior moments after the Knights’ 72-54 loss at the hands of last season’s arch-rival, the Benilde Blazers, on Sunday at the Filoil Ecooil Centre.

During the singing of La Salle’s ‘Alma Mater Hymn’ after the game, the fan threw a water bottle toward the Knights’ staff.

Two of Letran’s staff members are La Salle products, namely Matthew Sia of La Salle Greenhills and Lou Gatumbado of St. Benilde.

Fortunately, the bouncers inside the venue were on their toes, preventing the incident from escalating further.

The fan was quickly escorted out of the venue.

Frustrating has been this season for the rebuilding Knights, notching just two wins and is about to finish their campaign with the worst record in school history.

Seeing the Blazers remain in the top four might add to the sting.

However, venting ire on two Lasallians serving Letran will not ease the pain at all.
