Ginebra San Miguel finally has its lead floor general just in time for the PBA season resumption that’s fast approaching.
LA Tenorio himself confirmed to Tiebreaker Times through a short text message that he has arrived at Clark, Pampanga Wednesday.
With this, the Gin Kings are close to having its lineup complete as they only await for the arrival of star forward Japeth Aguilar.
Aguilar, who is reportedly going through rehabilitation due to an old injury, is expected to arrive by tomorrow.
Tenorio’s arrival is indeed good news for the Barangay although it remains uncertain if he can suit up for their first game on Sunday versus NLEX.
The 36-year-old underwent an appendectomy last week and would need at least two weeks to recover, putting his ironman streak in danger.
Tenorio hasn’t missed a PBA game since entering Asia’s pioneering pro league in 2006, being remarkably present in a record 641 straight games.
Ginebra head coach Tim Cone, however, firmly believes that the Batangueno star is more than capable to keep the streak alive.
“It will be touch and go, but if anyone can do it, it will be LA,” the 22-time PBA champion coach said in an earlier interview with Tiebreaker Times.
