Strong Group taps Italian coach Alessandro Lodi to lead Farm Fresh

Farm Fresh is turning the page.

Determined to rise in the Premier Volleyball League, the Foxies have entrusted their future to Italian tactician Alessandro Lodi, who has been appointed as head coach ahead of the upcoming season by Strong Group Athletics.

Lodi replaces Benson Bocboc, who served as interim head coach during the 2024 All-Filipino Conference, where he guided the young squad to a 10th-place finish.

While the Foxies showed flashes of potential in their maiden PVL campaigns, the team is now gearing up for a breakthrough with Lodi’s international pedigree at the helm.

A well-traveled mentor with an expansive coaching résumé, Lodi has handled top clubs and universities across Europe, Asia, and North America.

His coaching journey includes stints in Switzerland (Groupe E Valtra, Sm’Aesch Pfeffingen), Poland (Budowlani Łódź, Jastrzębski Węgiel, Polskie Przetwory Pałac Bydgoszcz), the United States (University of Washington), Sweden (Habo Wolley), Japan (FC Tokyo), Germany (VC Bitterfeld-Wolfen), and most recently, in the Czech Republic with Dukla Liberec. He also served as assistant coach of the Finland national team in 2017.

Joining Lodi in this new chapter is Carlo Buzzichelli, a renowned strength and conditioning coach who will oversee the training programs for all Strong Group volleyball teams — including Farm Fresh and ZUS Coffee.

“The arrival of Coach Alessandro Lodi as Farm Fresh’s new head coach and Coach Carlo Buzzichelli as Strong Group’s new strength and conditioning head marks a new chapter for our teams,” said Farm Fresh team manager Kiara Cruz.

“With Coach Fabio Menta already on board as our volleyball consultant, we’ve seen improvements across all SGA teams—from the pros to the collegiate level. Now, with the additions of Coach Alessandro and Coach Carlo, we’re not just maintaining momentum—we’re becoming stronger.”
