B.League: Kobe Paras held to just two as Niigata dealt 18th straight loss

Kobe Paras returned to an off-the-bench role.

Still, it did not make any changes for Niigata as it was romped by Hiroshima, 63-82, in the 2021-22 B.League Season, Sunday at Region Plaza Joetsu.

Paras had just two points in the game, going 1-of-4 from the field. The 6-foot-6 Filipino winger had three steals and two rebounds as well.

The offense of Niigata once again struggled.

Down by just five at the half, Niigata went cold from the field, going just 3-of-11 for seven points. On the other hand, Albirex allowed the Dragonflies to score 29 points that turned the game into a blowout.

Nick Mayo seven of his 16 points in that spurt. He ended the game with nine rebounds as well.

Niigata could not recover from there, falling behind by as much as 27 points late.

Hiroshima, who went up to 13-8 after the win, had Gregory Echenique as its high point man. He had 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting with seven rebounds.

Niigata extended its league-worst skid to 18 games to fall to 2-19.

Rosco Allen led the way for Albirex once more with 19 points. Keigo Kimura added 15 points, going 5-of-14 from deep.

Paras and Niigata will next face Kiefer Ravena and Shiga on Christmas weekend.
