Kiefer Ravena on NLEX-Shiga situation: ‘Things have to take care of itself’

Kiefer Ravena has opted to stay mum regarding his status with both PBA team NLEX and B.League squad Shiga.

Questions have emerged on whether the PBA will momentarily release him from his contract to play in Japan. He and NLEX reached terms of a contract until 2023.

Some days after a back-and-forth with him, the Road Warriors, and the league, the 27-year-old opted to remain mum during an interview with Boy Abunda.

“Not a lot actually. I’ll probably pass on that but only time can tell,” he told the Interviewer when asked about an update regarding his status.

The 6-foot guard still feels excited by the prospect of playing against his younger brother Thirdy, who was recently renewed by San-En.

But of course, Kiefer is not looking that far ahead as he has a battle on his hand first.

“Of course, we are always excited to play against each other. Never pa siya nangyayari but things have to take care of itself before I can say that,” stressed Kiefer, who played 47 games with NLEX over the past three years.

“But of course, we are hoping for the best and just excited.”

Currently, Thirdy is completing his hotel quarantine protocols in a hotel in Libis before he can come home.

Certainly, Kiefer can’t wait to have a heart-to-heart talk with his brother.

“Malapit na rin makauwi si Thirdy at makakapagusap na kami to talk about things.”
