Ken Tuffin and Taranaki struggled in their final elimination round outing in the 2020 Sal’s NZ NBL tournament, suffering a 65-92 rout at the hands of Franklin, Thursday at The Trusts Arena in Auckland.
FEU Tamaraw Tuffin played his worst game in 14 games played, shooting blanks in nine minutes of game time.
Franklin, on the other hand, started like a house on fire. It took a 12-2 lead to start the game, before leading by as much as 29 points, 66-37, with three minutes left in the third canto.
This was the exact opposite of the Mountainairs’ 102-88 win over the Bulls last July 7.
With the loss, Taranaki fell to 8-6 and will figure in a playoff game for a semis spot on Wednesday.
Everard Bartlett led Franklin with 18 points, while Isaac Davidson added 17 points, five assists, and four rebounds.
Taranaki ace Derone Raukawa was limited to just 19 points, four rebounds, and four assists.
