By: Ohmer Bautista

Fresh off her signing with the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers, Fil-Hawaiian Kalei Mau stayed true to her word that she is dedicated to the Philippine Women’s National Volleyball Team.

Mau joined 11 players in the national team’s first practice for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games held at the Arellano University Gym, Thursday afternoon.

Joining Mau were the Creamline quartet of Alyssa Valdez, Jia Morado, Jema Galanza, and Celine Domingo; F2 Logistics’ Aby Marano and Majoy Baron; Petron’s Mika Reyes, Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, and Ces Molina; Cignal’s Mylene Paat; and UST’s Eya Laure.

Jaja Santiago, Dawn Macandili, Denden Lazaro, Dindin Santiago-Manabat, Tots Carlos, Kath Arado, Gel Cayuna, Jerili Malabanan, Alohi Robins-Hardy, and MJ Phillips were not able to make it in training.

Assistant coaches Kungfu Reyes and Brian Esquibel presided over the session.

Shaq Delos Santos, who was not present in the said practice due to out-of-country commitments, will still steer the wheels for the team as the regional meet, which the Philippines will host from November 30 to December 10, approaches.
