Kai Sotto, Adelaide to begin NBL 22 campaign on Dec 3

Kai Sotto begins his new journey with National Basketball League-Australia team Adelaide on December 3.

The 36ers will welcome new team Tasmania on that day at the JackJumpers’ homecourt in MyState Bank Arena at 4:00 PM.

Sotto will then have his first home game two days later against Brisbane.

Despite the delay on its opening date, each team will still have 28 games on its calendar.

The top four teams will advance to the best-of-three semis with the top seed taking on the fourth-ranked team while the second and third placers after the elims square off.

The winners will advance to the best-of-five finale.

“While it’s only a few weeks later than we originally planned, the new start date gives us a greater level of comfort and flexibility as we navigate through the current environment and prioritise having our growing number of fans courtside around the country and in New Zealand,” Hungry Jack’s NBL Commissioner Jeremy Loeliger said.

“The NBL is a fan-first product and playing in front of crowds is vital for the league and our clubs. Giving supporters an even better chance of seeing their teams compete at home was a key driver in moving things back slightly and in how we’ve structured the schedule.”

All in all, the 36ers play the Perth Wildcats four times during the NBL season; and Brisbane Bullets, Cairns Taipans, Illawarra Hawks, Melbourne United, New Zealand Breakers, South East Melbourne Phoenix, Sydney Kings and Tasmania JackJumpers on three occasions. Then the regular season wraps up at Adelaide Entertainment Centre on April 24 against Melbourne.
