Justine Baltazar given 2-year ban by KBL for ‘no-showing’ Samsung Seoul

The Korean Basketball League dropped the hammer on Justine Baltazar.

After an investigation by the KBL’s disciplinary committee, the league concluded that Baltazar and his camp acted in bad faith regarding him not obtaining a Korean visa to play for Samsung Seoul.

Due to this, Baltazar was given a two-year ban by the league.

Last month, Baltazar committed to play for the Thunders.

Samsung Seoul then began the process of procuring his visa for him to make it to the February 1 deadline.

However, when Samsung Seoul checked on the Korean embassy here, there were no documents submitted by Baltazar’s camp.

Baltazar, 25, played for Strong Group in the 32nd Dubai International Basketball Championship during the last week of January.

The Pampanga native previously played for Hiroshima in the B.League but asked for his release last December.

On the other hand, this was Samsung Seoul’s third attempt at getting an Asian import. However, they will close out the current season without one.
