JR Pasaol leads Gilas U24 3×3 pool for Asiad


Reigning UAAP Boys’ 3×3 Basketball Most Valuable Player, Johnrey Pasaol, takes the lead in the Gilas Pilipinas 3×3 team, set to compete in the 19th Asian Games.

Pasaol is gearing up to represent Far Eastern University in the men’s division. He stands at 6 feet 1 inch and is known for his scoring prowess that propelled the Baby Tamaraws to the top in Season 85.

He will be accompanied by five other talents in the upcoming event to be held in Huzhou, China.

The competition committee has established a maximum age limit of 24 years for both men’s and women’s tournaments.

Additionally, the team features a couple of standouts from College of Saint Benilde and San Beda University.

The Blazers’ frontline will be represented by Allen Liwag and Justine Sanchez, while the Red Lions’ duo comprises of Bismarck Lina and Bryan Sajonia.

These four players are currently serving their residency requirements for their respective schools.

Jed Diaz, an Ateneo 3×3 player, completes the roster.

Only four players will compete in the Hangzhou meet.

This marks the Philippines’ inaugural participation in the 3×3 competition at the Asian Games.
