After more than a decade of wearing the red and black of Cignal, Jheck Dionela is embarking on a new chapter in her storied volleyball career, signing with Farm Fresh.
“After a long and historic run as an HD Spiker, proficient libero Jheck Dionela is ready to add a new chapter to her tale as she brings her talents to the orange side of things,” read the Foxies’ official statement.
Dionela’s departure from Cignal comes after her playing time began to dwindle with the HD Spikers.
Since the arrival of Dawn Catindig earlier this year, Dionela has seen less court time, leading to her decision to seek a fresh start.
The shift to Farm Fresh offers her the opportunity to reclaim a leading role, this time as the ace libero of the Foxies.
For Farm Fresh, this is a pivotal acquisition.
Dionela will join Cae Lazo, forming a formidable defensive core for the Foxies.
Dionela’s move also brings an end to an era at Cignal, where she has been a cornerstone of the team since 2013.
Over her 11-year tenure, she helped the HD Spikers achieve remarkable success, including two runners-up finishes and three third-place finishes in the PVL.
In the now-defunct PSL, Dionela secured four Best Libero titles.
With this new chapter at Farm Fresh, Dionela is ready to continue her journey, this time anchoring the Foxies’ defense.
