After just one season in the pros, Jett Manuel is calling it a day.
According to multiple sources closely monitoring the situation, Manuel – the 12th overall pick in the 2017 PBA Rookie Draft by the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel – will no longer renew his contract with the club team after just one season. Moreover, the 26-year-old guard out of the University of the Philippines is not interested in signing with any other team.
Manuel, a 6-foot-2 scorer who tried to be a combo guard under Tim Cone, rarely played for Ginebra. His career was capped by just a two-game appearance during the Governors’ Cup.
Replacing him in the lineup is Teytey Teodoro, the 23rd overall pick in the 2018 PBA Draft who was left unsigned by the Columbian Dyip.
It is said that Manuel will instead focus on being an engineer while continuing his career as a TV analyst.
