ZUS Coffee remains winless three games into the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference after suffering a four-set loss to Choco Mucho.
Next up for the Thunderbelles is a clash with Akari, the booster of the Lady Falcons, on Thursday, Aug. 1.
This match holds particular significance for Thunderbelles head coach and former Adamson tactician Jerry Yee.
It is worth noting that Yee, now coaching University of the East in the UAAP, was “temporarily suspended” during Season 86 for “engaging in acts inconsistent with the league’s objectives” which aim to foster camaraderie and fair play among member schools.
“Kami, wala lang. Hindi ko naman masyado iniisip na ganon, and I do not really put much thought into it. Kami, lalaro lang kami,” Yee said.
The 50-year-old head coach was hired by UE two weeks after mutually parting ways with Adamson University.
In a prior statement, Yee explained that a conflict of interest arose between him and the Lady Falcons when the Farm Fresh Foxies tapped him to lead their maiden PVL roster.
“Kung ano yung mga dapat namin i-improve, sana ma-address namin. Naka-move on na ako, walang problema. Bahala sila kung ano ang issue nila,” the College of Saint Benilde coach added.
Yee further stated that instead of dwelling on past issues, he will focus on the improvements needed for the young Thunderbelles lineup, hoping to secure their first win.
“We’re trying to get small victories. Focusing on the first ball and trying to put away the third ball, ganon lang yung goal namin sa ngayon,” he said.
“Maraming points of improvement. Marami pang i-improve yung team. It’s a very young team, kumbaga ilang weeks palang tayo magkakasama, so laban naman sila, laro naman sila, and sumusunod sa instructions. So hopefully, we get our first win soon.”
