For Jayson Castro, rebounding was an issue for TNT in its failure to finish off Meralco in Game Four of their 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup semifinal series Saturday evening at the Ynares Center.
In the 83-95 loss that sent the series to a do-or-die Game Five, the KaTropa lost the battle of the boards badly, 38-52.
Castro observed that Meralco was also able to snare long balls, and the veteran floor general said that it should have been the responsibility of him and his fellow guards to get those.
“Na out-hustle ulit. Lahat ng rebound, lahat ng long rebounds sa kanila. Siguro yung responsible doon, kami,” said Castro, who finished with 14 points, seven assists, and three steals.
“‘Yung mga guards, ‘di natutulungan ‘yung mga bigs. Kailangan tulungan yung bigs sa rebounding.”
But aside from rebounding, there are still other things left for TNT to work on for Game Five. And one of which is, again, to try contain the production of former two-time Best Import Allen Durham.
The American bruiser caused problems yet again for the KaTropa as he collected 36 points, 13 boards, and five dimes.
“Kailangan naming ma-stop si Durham, kasi both wins nila, siya talaga eh, hindi yung mga locals nila eh. So kailangan talaga naming humanap ng paraan kug pano talaga siya ma-stop,” he said.
“Pero lahat gagawin na namin. Nalabas na yung mga cards eh. Siguro kung sino na lang talaga gustong manalo.”
