Nabor not expected to miss games due to osteochondroma

National University Lady Bulldogs setter Jasmine Nabor was finally enlightened on the pain she regularly experienced in her left knee.

Earlier today, the young playmaker completed a medical checkup with famed athlete doctor Dr. Raul Canlas MD, revealing that she is nursing an osteochondroma — the most common benign tumor that grows on the bones. It is characterized as an overgrowth in bones that are formed by cartilage.

According to NU head coach Roger Gorayeb, Nabor will need to rest her knee until the pain subsides. But she is not expected to miss matches with NU (3-0) staking their undefeated start to UAAP Season 79 against defending champions DLSU Lady Spikers (2-0) on Sunday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.UAAP-79-ADMU-vs.-NU-Nabor-9839 Nabor not expected to miss games due to osteochondroma News NU UAAP Volleyball - philippine sports news

“Okay naman wala naman daw dapat ikbahala pero pina-xray pa din namin. Pero after UAAP dapat operahan pa din,” the grizzled mentor told Tiebreaker Times.

The 18-year-old Tarlac-native had kept her injury secret from Gorayeb in fear of missing games. Gorayeb expected his ward to act like this, saying that Nabor had always been a team player.

“Ganyan talaga yan si Jasmine. Tahimik lang yan kahit nahihirapan na. Basta siya, she’ll do what she can for the team. Maa-admire mo din ‘yun kaso ayaw mo lang din siya masakatan,” Gorayeb closed.
