Ivy Lacsina shares struggles with setters ahead of breakthrough win

After forgettable performances in the team’s last three games, Ivy Lacsina looked as though she had finally found her groove after taking charge in Nxled’s breakthrough victory over Galeries Tower in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference.

Lacsina had averaged just 8.7 points in the Chameleons’ three-game losing streak to start the tournament.

But she dropped 17 points – her best output so far this conference – along with 11 excellent digs in the 25-21, 25-18, 25-15 sweep of the Highrisers on Tuesday night.

And ayun, nakita naman po pagdating sa game,” said Lacsina after the win.

The former National University standout revealed that it had been a tough couple of weeks for her. She admitted that she had clashed with her setters multiple times prior to their first win over Galeries.

Still, Lacsina said she never lost faith in both Kamille Cal and Maji Mangulabnan, adding that she had spent the past week working with the two and adapting to their styles.

“So syempre…

It all proved to be a success as the Chameleons – after losses to Choco Mucho, PLDT, and Cignal to start the conference – finally secured their first win.

With this, Lacsina vowed to continue working with the rest of the team as they aim to be more consistent moving forward.
