Nxled sweeps Galeries Tower for second straight PVL On Tour win

POLOMOLOK, South Cotabato — Nxled outlasted Galeries Tower in a tightly contested straight-set victory, 25-23, 25-23, 25-20, to secure back-to-back wins in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League On Tour Showdown on Saturday at the Polomolok Gymnasium here.

The Chameleons weathered the Highrisers’ strong challenges in the opening two sets before pulling away late in the third to complete the sweep and improve to 2-1 in the preseason tournament.

After escaping with narrow victories in the first two frames, the third set appeared headed for another tense finish when Jean Asis roofed Jovelyn Fernandez to cut the deficit to just one, 17-16.

Nxled, however, quickly regained control. Fernandez immediately atoned for the error with a kill through the block, igniting a decisive 5-0 run that gave the Chameleons a commanding 22-16 lead.

Galeries Tower made one final push to extend the match, with Julia Coronel and Jade Gentapa sparking a 3-0 run to trim the deficit to three. Aduke Ogunsanya halted the rally with a timely kill before Gentapa committed an attack error that handed Nxled match point at 24-19.

Gentapa kept the Highrisers alive with a down-the-line hit, but Myla Pablo sealed the victory with the match-clinching attack, completing the sweep in one hour and 38 minutes.

“Well, I think we played a good game altogether. The players showed their real value, and against teams like Galeries — which have a very good serve and a very good block — we know we’ve got to fight,” said Chameleons head coach Ettore Guidetti.

“We are simply trying to take away the little mistakes and show some little coverage, and I think we played really good,” he added.
