Ivy Lacsina has been on a rollercoaster ride with F2 Logistics.
The 6-foot-1 spiker made her debut in the 2022 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference as a middle blocker, the position where she made her mark back when she was with National University in the UAAP.
In one game during the 2023 First All-Filipino Conference, she was used as an open spiker before making the full transition in the Invitational Conference.
In the Cargo Movers’ first game in the Second All-Filipino Conference, Lacsina was moved to opposite spiker.
In yet another position change, the 23-year-old NU product credited her senior teammates for helping her adjust to the role.
Kianna Dy, who is usually the team’s starting opposite hitter, is still recovering from an injury she sustained in the last conference.
Lacsina excelled in the open position, dropping a game-high 26 points on 22 attacks, three blocks, and a service ace.
However, she wasn’t happy despite her performance, as the Cargo Movers suffered a 21-25, 25-20, 27-25, 19-25, 15-8 upset loss to Akari on Tuesday at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.
Having been with F2 Logistics for a year already, Lacsina is now expected to take a more veteran approach, especially with new players in the team.
During the last conference, Jolina Dela Cruz, Mars Alba, and Jovelyn Fernandez joined the Cargo Movers, while Marian Andal and Ethan Arce came aboard for the ongoing tournament.
The influx of new players, including Joy Dacoron, also proves to be a determining factor in the first-game upset for F2 Logistics.
Lacsina admitted that communication is still a work in progress with many new faces in the squad.
