Kinh Bac-Bac Ninh ended its 2023 Premier Volleyball League Invitational Conference without a win after losing all five games in the semifinals.
But despite going home winless, Huong Nguyen is still elated, knowing that her team will head back to Vietnam full of learning experiences after competing against the top teams from the Philippines and Japan’s Kurashiki Blaze.
“We learned so much from this tournament. We gained a lot of experience, and the Philippine and Japanese teams demonstrated exceptional technique and teamwork,” said Nguyen.
“So my team needs to improve its skills further and learn a lot from the Philippine and Japanese teams,” she added.
Nguyen also expressed that the team really enjoyed their stay in the Philippines and appreciated the warm reception from the fans. She expressed her desire to come back if the PVL decides to invite them again next year.
“This is the first time that I’ve joined a big tournament. I saw how crowded the venue was, and I’m very happy to have played in this tournament,” said Nguyen.
“Yes, of course, if we’re invited again, we will work on improving our skills and bring a strong team to the Philippines one more time,” she added.
Kinh Bac-Bac Ninh tried to end its Invitationals run with a win but fell at the hands of F2 Logistics in four sets, 25-23, 19-25, 18-25, 20-25, at the Philsports Arena on Friday.
Nguyen top-scored for the Vietnam team with 19 points, while Xuan Le and My Phan added 15 and 11 points, respectively, despite the loss.
