Geo Chiu will no longer suit up for his senior year with Ateneo de Manila University.
The 6-foot-10 big man made his debut for the Taiwan Mustangs in the second leg of the 2024 Asian Tournament on Tuesday at the City of Passi Arena.
By playing in the league, Chiu is no longer eligible to play in the UAAP since TAT is a pro league.
According to multiple sources closely monitoring the situation, Chiu will have a tryout with a B.League club after the tournament.
In what ended up being his final year at Ateneo, Chiu played in 14 games with a total playtime of 108 minutes, making 19 points and 32 rebounds.
During his Mustangs debut, Chiu played splendidly, finishing with six points and seven rebounds in 21 minutes of action.
He helped Taiwan secure an 83-78 win over the Zamboanga Valientes.
Former Alab import Sam Deguara led the Mustangs with 29 points and 11 rebounds, while Alex Cabagnot tallied 10 points, five assists, and four rebounds.
Malick Diouf led Zamboanga with 19 points and 12 rebounds.
During the off-season, Kai Ballungay, Jared Brown, and Jason Credo also decided to turn pro.
