Dikachi Ududo gives back to roots, donates sports gears to Nigerian hometown

Despite being a champion with the University of the Philippines, Dikachi Ududo has not forgotten his roots.

The 21-year-old recently sent sporting gear and shoes to his hometown of Jos, Nigeria — specifically to the Suns Basketball Academy, the very program that helped pave his way to the Philippines.

“Big ups to Dikachi Ududo for staying true to his roots in Jos! Just a few years after leaving, he’s already giving back in a big way,” wrote Suns Basketball Academy founder Kingsley Okobi. “Dikachi, fondly known as ‘Youngblood,’ recently sent over sports gear and shoes to support the community where it all began.

“As a proud Suns Academy alumnus now playing for UP, this heartwarming gesture reflects the very values we strive to instill: gratitude, generosity, and giving back.”

Ududo began his basketball journey in the Philippines with Guang Ming College before earning a call-up to the UP Fighting Maroons in 2023.

During UAAP Season 87, the 6-foot-9 big man averaged 2.61 points and 2.78 rebounds per game.

Despite being far from home, Ududo has remained actively involved in supporting the community development initiatives of Suns Academy.

“We’re incredibly proud and deeply grateful. May the Suns continue to shine and make your path brighter,” added Okobi.
