Filipino stars shine as Selangor Red Giants stun Falcons AP. Bren to win first MSC

At long last, Malaysia has made its first major breakthrough in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang scene.

The Selangor Red Giants, up against arguably the best team in the world, defied the odds and stunned Falcons AP.Bren 4-3 to claim their first-ever title in the ML:BB Mid Season Cup, held Sunday at the AMAZON Arena in Riyadh.

Playing pivotal roles in the reigning MPL MY champions’ landmark victory were Filipinos Mark “KRAMM” Rusiana, Vincent “Innocent” Banal, and head coach Michael “Arcadia” Bocado.

Selangor leaned on the steady performances of Hazziq “Stormie” Rizwan (Valentina) and KRAMM (Ruby) in the decider, with the latter securing a double kill during a crucial team fight halfway into the 10th minute.

With the Lord on their side, the Red Giants wiped all but two of AP.Bren’s turrets.

Selangor tried to invade the reigning world champions’ base once again with the Lord in the 14th minute, but Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel (Yve), Marco “Super Marco” Requitiano (Harith), and Kyle “KyleTzy” Sayson (Ling) managed to wave off the assault.

The Red Giants finished things off during the 17th-minute Lord dance, catching David “FlapTzy” Canon (Terizla), which quickly turned into a five-for-three exchange, marking the end for AP.Bren.

KRAMM finished with a 6-1-12 KDA line in Game 7, while Stormie delivered six kills and 14 assists without a single death.

“I’m very happy with what we have achieved. As for those judgments [towards us], I don’t really dwell too much on them because I respect everyone’s opinion,” said coach Arcadia during the post-game press conference.

Selangor actually had the opportunity to close out the series in Game 6, but the Filipinos kept their hopes alive with a dominant victory to send the series to a winner-take-all Game 7.

This is Malaysia’s first-ever international title in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang scene.

The Red Giants will bring home a total of $1,000,000 for bagging the championship, while AP.Bren settled for $500,000.
