Criss Cross star Jude Garcia is entering the 2026 Spikers’ Turf Open Conference more determined than ever.
As if he needed any extra motivation, the birth of his baby boy, Callen, with wife Colen, has sparked a new fire within him—fueling a determination that goes far beyond trophies and past accolades.
Already a four-time MVP and three-time champion, the 27-year-old outside hitter has been channeling this renewed focus and energy into the King Crunchers’ campaign, emerging as a driving force in the squad’s commanding start toward a back-to-back title run.
“Sobrang laking motivation saka ang sarap sa pakiramdam kasi nga meron na akong baby,” Garcia said.
That added fire has been evident in the King Crunchers’ first three games of the tournament, with Garcia’s consistent play powering Criss Cross to a dominant 3-0 start and setting the tone for what could be another championship run.
The former Alas Pilipinas beach volleyball standout is averaging 12.7 points per game to start the tournament—well below his usual numbers—but his impact has been felt in other ways.
All three wins over VNS Always Bright Laticrete, Alpha Insurance, and AEP-Cabstars came in straight sets, with Garcia’s leadership and timely plays helping Criss Cross control every match from start to finish.
“Siyempre kumbaga, ‘yun ‘yun eh, may dagdag motivation ulit sa akin, inspiration para maglaro ako nang maayos. ‘Yun naman ‘yung nagiging reason kung bakit ako naglalaro, para sa pamilya ko talaga,” he added.
Coming off a breakthrough championship run in the Invitational Conference, the King Crunchers are gunning for back-to-back titles—and with Garcia firing on all cylinders, his renewed focus and determination have given the team an extra edge in pursuit of another crown.
