Farm Fresh punched its ticket to the qualifying round in emphatic fashion, halting Akari’s five-game winning streak with a four-set 25-19, 25-14, 23-25, 25-17 victory in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference on Saturday at the Filoil Centre.
The Foxies closed out the preliminary round on a three-game winning streak, finishing with a 5-4 record and 17 points—enough to secure a spot in the top four and join PLDT and Cignal in the qualifying phase.
After failing to close out the match in straight sets, Farm Fresh dominated the fourth frame to prevent a fifth, cementing their advancement to the next stage.
“Akari is a good, balanced team,” said Foxies head coach Koji Tsuzurabara. “Outside, middle, opposite, it’s a balanced team. I appreciate Akari, my players also. They did their best performance.”
Farm Fresh winger Royse Tubino continued her hot streak, pouring in a game-high 21 points on 19 attacks and two kill blocks, teaming up with Trisha Tubu and Ces Molina to deliver the finishing touches against the Chargers.
Tubu added 19 points built on 17 attacks, one block, and one ace, while Molina flirted with a triple-double, tallying 18 points, 11 excellent digs, and nine excellent receptions in the one-hour, 52-minute contest.
Alohi Robins-Hardy orchestrated the Foxies’ offense with 19 excellent sets, while Bia General anchored the floor with 18 excellent receptions and 12 excellent digs. Riri Meneses also contributed eight markers in the win.
Meanwhile, Akari ended up tied for third to fifth spots with Farm Fresh and Nxled after identical records, missing out on an outright qualifying berth due to inferior points and instead heading into the play-in semifinal.
Eli Soyud paced the Chargers with 17 points on 12 attacks, four blocks, and one ace, while Ivy Lacsina finished with 15 markers along with 12 excellent receptions.
Middle blockers Fifi Sharma and Ced Domingo added nine and eight points, respectively, while Grethcel Soltones was held to just four markers in the defeat.
Team captain and defensive ace Justine Jazareno put up a monster effort with 26 excellent digs and 24 excellent receptions that ultimately went for naught, while Mars Alba contributed 15 excellent sets.
