F2 Logistics drubs UP-UAI to stay unscathe

Heading into their crucial meeting with their perennial rivals, the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers handled the University of the Philippines-United Auctioneers Lady Maroons with their signature precision, 25-13, 25-22, 25-16, to stay undefeated in Group A of the 2018 Chooks to Go-Philippine Superliga Invitational Cup at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

While no Cargo Mover scored in double-digits, F2 Logistics excuted to a tee, giving up just 17 errors to UP’s 26. F2 Logistics also pressured their younger foes on the serve, stifling their offense and collecting six aces in the process.

F2 Logistics head coach Ramil De Jesus lauded his squad’s focus despite facing a decidedly younger team.

“Sabi ko naman lahat ng makakalaban natin, bago o beterano o rookie, kailangan nating bigyan nang magandang respeto. Hindi puwedeng papasok ka sa loob ng court na sobrang confident ka. Although confident ka, kailangan yung respect hindi mawawala sa kalaban,” thought the two-time PSL champion mentor.

Majoy Baron toppes F2 Logistics with nine points, while Cha Cruz-Behag and Kianna Dy added seven markers.

Veteran Marian Buitre swung in for a game-high 10 points off eight attacks and two blocks, while Isa Molde managed six markers for the Lady Maroons.

UP (0-4) drop to the classification stage for 7th-10th along with Cocolife, UE-Cherrylume, and Foton.

The Cargo Movers (3-0) will meet Petron (2-1) in a rematch of the last two Grand Prix Finals on Saturday at the Muntinlupa Sports Coliseum. The winner will claim an outright semis slot, while the loser will settle for a quarterfinals berth.
