As she turns another page in her bright young career, Eya Laure is setting her sights on much bigger goals, both on and off the court.
Laure, who celebrated her 25th birthday with a big win over Petro Gazz last Thursday, shared that leading the Crossovers to a Premier Volleyball League championship will always be number one in her career bucket list.
The reigning All-Filipino Best Outside spiker, however, believes that winning a championship takes time which is why she wants the team to take things one step at a time and start by clinching their first podium finish since the team’s title campaign in 2021.
‘Di ko ‘man nakuha sa UST pero dito sa Chery, habang nasa Chery isa-strive at isa-strive makakuha ng title of course,” said the former UAAP Rookie of the Year.
“Pero first podium muna. ‘Yun muna talaga yung magiging goal, podium first tapos saka tayo tataas nang tataas kapag nandoon na tayo sa semis,” added Laure, who steered Chery Tiggo to the semis in her rookie year during the Second All-Filipino Conference.
Aside from her title aspirations, the second-year outside spiker said that she is also making sure that her life after volleyball is well taken care of.
Laure revealed that she is looking at investing in properties, which she will share with her fans and social media followers through her vlog in the future. The former UST star said that she will try and make the most out of her present opportunities to secure her future outside the sport.
The 5-foot-10 outside spiker played as big as her dreams in Chery Tiggo’s come-from-behind 25-21, 18-25, 22-25, 25-19, 15-13 victory over the Brooke Van Sickle-led Petro Gazz on Thursday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Laure tallied a game-high 15 points to go along with 12 excellent digs to help the Crossovers win their second win in a row after back-to-back losses and improve their record to 4-2.
More on preparation talaga, more on work na communication, ayan.”
