Diego says F2 taking caution with Pablo injury

F2 Logistics head coach Regine Diego is hopeful that Myla Pablo can return in time for the Cargo Movers’ semifinals campaign in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference

Pablo suffered from cramps early in the fourth set of F2 Logistics’ 25-23, 25-19, 13-25, 25-22 victory over Choco Mucho at the Philsports Arena last Tuesday.

The two-time PVL Most Valuable Player did not see action in the Cargo Movers’ 25-15, 20-25, 25-20, 25-13 semis-clinching win against Army-Black Mamba at the Filoil EcoOil Centre on Saturday night.

Diego said that they are resting Pablo, who watched her teammates from the sidelines, to prevent any more injuries.

“For now, we’re just resting her. Meron pa siyang mga check-ups but she can walk naman, as you can see she can run. So I’m very hopeful na she can still comeback in the semifinals, but for now, we’re taking it day by day lang,” said Diego just moments after the win.

The former NU-Nazareth School coach also shared that Pablo has been dealing with other issues on her knee. Hence, their decision to shut down the former Petro Gazz star against the Lady Troopers.

Diego emphasized as well that the team’s main focus is their players’ health.

“Yung cramps niya kasi baka meron pang ibang issues. Dati kasi meron na siyang… sumasakit din yung mga tuhod niya before,” said Diego.

“So kailangan naming i-check siya everyday para sure na safe siyang makabalik kasi mas priority namin ngayon yung health nila more than winning a game. Kahit matalo kami basta walang injury it’s still a win for us,” she added.

Kianna Dy once again top scored for the Cargo Movers with 22 points on 18 attacks, three aces, and a block. Meanwhile, Aby Marano and Elaine Kasilag stepped up with 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Middle blocker Ivy Lacsina filled in for Pablo and suited up as an open hitter against Army. She finished with nine points in just two sets played. Majoy Baron, who assumed the starting middle spot, had nine as well.

F2 Logistics is hoping that Pablo can come back when they kick-start their first-ever semis campaign on March 18, Saturday at the Philsports Arena.
