French national basketball team forward Boris Diaw, who was recently traded to the Utah Jazz, said in a press conference on Friday that he is ready for the next chapter of his professional career.
“I know it’s part of basketball career to move and go to different cities. I’m ready for the new challenge,” said Diaw, who is in Manila, Philippines for the 2016 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
Diaw also posted on Twitter his gratitude for the San Antonio Spurs franchise.
Spurs' fans, thanks for all your messages. Great years here and a ring! Leaving but San Antonio will always be a special place to me.

“I’m gonna miss the Spurs. It was a great experience and I had a great time playing for them,” the 34-year-old added.
The 13-year NBA veteran averaged 7.4 PPG, 3.8 RPG, and 2.6 APG in five seasons with the Spurs and was part of their 2014 championship squad.
The Spurs traded Diaw for Utah’s second round pick in the 2016 NBA Draft Oliver Hanlan to clear up space for Pau Gasol, whom the Spurs are going to sign for two years.
Tony Parker, Diaw’s teammate in the Spurs and the national team, said he wishes the forward the best.
“I hoped we can keep both but I wish Boris luck,” Parker said. “I’m very sad that he’s traded but it’s a business. We’re getting Pau and he’s one of the best players in the world.”
France will take on Turkey in the semi-finals of the Manila OQT on Saturday night.
