Daniel Caluag drops to bronze


Daniel Caluag could not defend his crown in the Men’s BMX event of the 2018 Asian Games, Saturday at the Pulo Mas International BMX center in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The 31-year-old Filipino-American, who won gold in Incheon, settled for bronze in the tournament.

This is the seventh bronze for the Philippines so far in the continental meet.

Caluag clocked in at a time of 35.842 – 2.173 seconds behind gold medalist Nagasako Yoshitaku of Japan and 1.528 seconds behind Saputra Bagus of Indonesia.

For the distaff’s side, Sienna Fines finished in fifth place with a time of 35.842 seconds – 2.875 seconds shy of making it to the podium.
