Creamline sacks Li Huanning, to bring back Tai Bundit

It did not take long for the Creamline Cool Smashers to bring back one of the pillars that helped build the team.

After suffering an embarrassing three-set loss to the Petro Gazz Angels last Sunday (25-22, 26-24, 25-22), Creamline decided to remove Chinese head coach Li Huanning from his post last Tuesday.

This development was first reported by Joey Villar of the Philippine Star.

“Hindi na namin pinapunta ng practice si Coach Li nung Tuesday,” confirmed a team official, who requested anonymity.

“Si Coach Ed [Ortega] na nag-handle ng ensayo namin.”

Tai Bundit is set to make his return as the head coach of the two-time PVL champions, Tiebreaker Times sources added.

Under Bundit, Creamline won both the 2018 PVL Reinforced and Open Conference championships.

The decorated mentor decided to go back to Thailand for good last December, saying that being away from his family has taken its toll on him. This, despite receiving plenty of lucrative offers to stay in the Philippines.

However, the Thai mentor will only arrive on Monday.

Serving as head coach of the Cool Smashers against Bali Pure later today, and Banko Perlas on Sunday is trainer Ortega.
