Celine Marsh, Sam Cantada deliver as NU-Dasma extends MPVA streak to 11

National University-backed Dasmarinas continued its scorching form, overpowering Negros ICC Blue Hawks in four sets, 25-19, 14-25, 25-18, 25-18, to stretch their unbeaten streak to 11 games and maintain their charge toward the top seed in the 2025 Maharlika Pilipinas Volleyball Association.

The Monarchs, already assured of a semifinals spot, displayed the depth and firepower of a team fueled by three-time UAAP champions Lady Bulldogs.

Celine Marsh and Sam Cantada led the way with 15 and 14 points, respectively. Meanwhile, Jenelyn Jacob, Joseline Salazar, and Best Setter Lams Lamina contributed six points apiece.

Rashel Bajamonde and Myrtle Escanlar added five points each under the guidance of new coach Regine Diego.

Even without team captain Vange Alinsug, who took a brief day off, NU-Dasma picked up exactly where they left off after their ‘four-peat’ conquest in the Shakey’s Super League Preseason Unity Cup over the weekend.

Meanwhile, reigning champion Quezon Tangerines extended their streak to 11-1 after sweeping the Pasay Lady Voyagers, 25-19, 25-18, 25-21, with Clydel Catarig and Shekaina Lleses scoring 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Zam Nolasco and Shahanna Lleses added nine and eight points as Quezon prepares for a rematch against NU-Dasmarinas in the final elimination round.

Biñan Tatak Gel Arellano Lady Chiefs secured the final semifinals ticket with a 25-16, 25-22, 25-22 win over the Marikina Lady Shoemasters.

Crisanta Servidad led Biñan with 10 points while Desaela Gae Segovia contributed seven.

The Lady Chiefs finished the eliminations of this tournament backed by Mikasa, Asics, Spurway Enterprise, Gerflor, Smart Communications, and XIV Apparel at 8-3, capitalizing on Pasay’s seventh loss (5-7) to clinch their spot.

Andrea Caparal paced Negros with 16 points, while Florize Anne Papa tallied 11 for Pasay. Liam Lenguaje scored 11 for Marikina, which slipped further down the standings at 1-11.

With Dasmarinas, Quezon, and Biñan locking in semifinal berths, only one Final Four spot remains in the eight-team MPVA, with hopefuls Pasay, Negros, and San Juan vying for the final ticket.
