Three-time PVL Most Valuable Player Brooke Van Sickle chose familiarity over uncertainty.
In the wake of Petro Gazz’s decision to take a leave of absence, Van Sickle opted to stay close to home, reuniting with several former Angels at Nxled ahead of the 2026 Premier Volleyball League season, the Chameleons announced Thursday.
And she is far from alone.
Nxled is also welcoming a decorated trio in two-time league MVP Myla Pablo, two-time Finals MVP MJ Phillips, and promising young setter Jules Tolentino, all set to reunite with their former Petro Gazz teammates in a new environment.
The quartet played pivotal roles in the Angels’ storybook run in the season-ending Reinforced Conference, steering fifth-seeded Petro Gazz to its third title in the same conference and fourth championship overall.
Now, they look to recreate that championship chemistry as they spearhead Nxled’s push for its first major breakthrough in the league.
The Chameleons’ growing Angels contingent also includes Jonah Sabete, Djanel Cheng, Bang Pineda, Ranya Musa, AA Adolfo, and Jellie Tempiatura, further reinforcing the team’s ambitious rebuild.
Nxled has likewise added veteran middle blocker Aby Maraño and setter Joyme Cagande from Chery Tiggo, along with middle blocker Aduke Ogunsanya from Choco Mucho — bringing its total number of new recruits to 14.
They will join an Nxled core headlined by Lyann de Guzman, Chiara Permentilla, Krich Macaslang, Lucille Almonte, Jovelyn Fernandez, EJ Laure, and Mayang Nuique, among others, forming what could be the most intriguing roster the franchise has fielded to date.
