After starting its rebuild with five key acquisitions, Nxled added another wave of talent on Wednesday, welcoming liberos Bang Pineda and Jellie Tempiatura, opposite hitter AA Adolfo, outside hitter Nicole Tiamzon, and setter Joyme Cagande, bringing their total haul to nine.
The latest reinforcements join the first wave of signings — playmaker Djanel Cheng, winger Jonah Sabete, and middle blockers Ranya Musa, Aduke Ogunsanya, and Aby Maraño — forming a core of seasoned veterans expected to stabilize the lineup and set the tone for Nxled’s push in the All-Filipino Conference.
Left teamless after Petro Gazz’s surprising leave of absence, Pineda, Tempiatura, Adolfo, and Tiamzon reunite with fellow former Angels Musa, Sabete, and Cheng. The group blends championship experience with established chemistry.
Pineda, 34, was instrumental in steering Petro Gazz to its recent Reinforced Conference title. Tempiatura, Tiamzon, and Adolfo provided crucial contributions off the bench.
Meanwhile, Cagande, a once-promising setter from National University, gets a fresh start after limited opportunities in her two-year stint with Chery Tiggo.
With its revamped roster, Nxled is aiming for a breakthrough, setting sights on the semifinals for the first time since joining the PVL in 2023.
