Kemark Carino and Aomori suffered their worst loss in the early goings of the 2021-22 B.League Division II season, falling to a 56-109 loss at the hands of Koshigaya, Saturday at the Koshigaya City Gymnasium.
It was a wire-to-wire win for the Alphas as they raced to a 24-4 lead to start the game and never looked back.
The lead would go up to 57-23 at the half and ballooned to as high as 56 points, 108-52, with 1:52 left. It did not help that the Wat’s only scored nine points in the final frame.
Horrid was the shooting of Aomori as it shot just 21-of-68 from the field and attempted just 10 free throws. In contrast, Koshigaya – who went up to 6-3 in the east – shot an efficient 50-percent from the floor. They also knocked down 14 treys, and went 15-of-18 from the charity stripe.
The Alphas had six players score in double-digits, led by the 20 points of Craig Brackins and Jonathan Octeus. Brackins had seven rebounds, while Octeus also had six rebounds and five assists.
Shun Matsuyama got 12 points, while team captain Tomoya Hasegawa and Hirotoki Iida added 11 points each. Hasegawa drained three treys, as Iida went 4-of-4 from the field.
Aomori, who suffered their third straight loss to fall to 1-8 in the east, was led by the 13 points and seven rebounds of Michael Craig. Daichi Shimoyama and Hayate Komosawa got 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Carino played nine minutes in the contest, finishing with two points and four rebounds.
The two squads face off again tomorrow at 2:00 PM.
