Aurora keeps M6 hopes alive with commanding win over ULFHEDNAR

By: Jan Marcus Montevirgen

Aurora finally rediscovered their form in the M6 World Championship, eliminating ULFHEDNAR (Turkey) with a decisive 2-0 victory on Day 4 of the Swiss Stage on Sunday at the IOI Grand Exhibition & Convention Center in Malaysia.

With the win, the Filipino squad improved their standings to a 1-2 record, keeping their hopes alive in the tournament.

The pivotal moment for Aurora came during the 14-minute Lord skirmish in Game 2. Jonard “Demonkite” Caranto (Alpha) secured the Lord, setting up a swift mid-lane push.

Seconds later, Jan “Domeng” Delmundo (Moskov) focused on the base turret, sealing the game and the series.

Domeng was named MVP of the match with a flawless KDA of three kills and nine assists, while Demonkite tallied four kills, two deaths, and seven assists.

“The first thing is that I wanted to thank coach BON CHAN because we had a scrim with them yesterday, and they really helped us prepare for ULFHEDNAR,” said head coach Aniel “Master the Basics” Jiandani during the post-match interview.

“Aside from that, the rest we had yesterday was a big help – it gave us time to think about what we needed to do.”

Aurora faced early struggles in Game 1, with ULFHEDNAR punishing them during the early stages.

However, Edward “Edward” Dapadap (Phoveus) and Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo (Zuxhin) turned the tide with stellar teamfight performances, creating opportunities for Domeng (Bruno) to dominate in the late game.

Domeng secured a Maniac to close the match at the 15:02 mark.

The 17-year-old gold laner was named MVP of the game, filling the stat sheet with five kills, one death, and six assists. Edward and Yue contributed significantly, combining for six kills, three deaths, and 18 assists.
