It’s no secret that Alvin Pasaol wasn’t used that much by the Marinerong Pilipino Skippers last PBA D-League season.
One of the best scorers the UAAP had ever seen, Pasaol only averaged 9.4 points, along with 5.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists in 14.9 minutes in the 13 games he saw action.
But now, Pasaol is seen to take a bigger responsibility in his second foray in the developmental league, as he’s serving as a guest player for the young Petron-Letran Knights.
“Mas malaki yung role ko ngayon na ginagampanan sa Letran kasi laki ng tiwala na binibigay sa’kin ng coaches,” the 23-year-old said, whose sights are set in the 2020 PBA Draft.
And that’s what he proved when the Knights debuted last Thursday.
Though they received a rude welcome in the hands of Che’lu, 94-96, it was the hefty guard who showed the way for Letran by dropping 33 points along with 10 rebounds and seven dimes.
But even with the stinging defeat to last year’s two-time finalists, Pasaol liked what he saw from his new teammates, which will be beneficial for them as they tread on this long season.
“Naano lang kami nung last part, nung dying seconds,” said the UE Red Warrior.
“Okay naman yung team namin, maganda naman tinatakbo namin.”
