Alab Pilipinas gut out tough OT win versus Macau to bounce back

San Miguel Alab Pilipinas dug deep to carve out its first win in the 2019-20 ABL Season, outlasting home squad Macau Wolf Warriors in overtime, 114-110, Wednesday at the Foshan Shishan Gymnasium.

With the game knotted at 105-all, Khalif Wyatt took charge. He scored on two freebies, before knocking down a stepback triple with 1:50 left to put Alab up for good.

Wyatt — who only had six points against Mono Vampire 10 days ago — had 24 points, seven assists, and six rebounds.

Douglas Herring then tried to will Macau back. Unfortunately, though, big baskets from Brandon Rosser and Jason Brickman late slammed the door on the Wolf Warriors.

Brickman, who only had four assists against Mono, glued things together for Alab, tallying 14 points, 12 assists, and seven rebounds.

Jordan Heading led the way for Alab with 27 points while Nick King added 18 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists.

Alab went up to 1-1, while Macau dropped to 0-2.

Julian Boyd paced Macau with 38 points and 17 rebounds, while Herring had 19 points, 16 assists, and six steals. Chen Cai had 22 points as well built on four treys.

Alab will play their first home game on Sunday, December 15 against the Singapore Slingers. It will take place at the Sta. Rosa Multipurpose Sports Complex in Laguna.
