Akosi Dogie back in competition, headlines NXP Evos

Setsuna “Akosi Dogie” Ignacio — whom many consider as one of the pillars of Philippine Mobile Legends — will headline the eight-man roster of Nexplay EVOS for the upcoming Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines, Wednesday night.

Dogie last suited up for Happy Feet Emperors back in The Nationals Season One. He later took on a managerial and coaching role in the Nexplay franchise.

Nexplay EVOS big three John Paul “H2Wo” Salonga, Renejay “Renejay” Barcarse, and Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera join Southeast Asian Games gold medalist and former Omega Esports support Jeniel “Haze” Bata-anon; and rookies Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya and Hesa.

Offlaner James “Jeymz” Gloria will be the lone holdover aside from the NXP big three.

The organization also officially announced the signing of former ONIC PH tank Michael “Zico” Dizon as its head coach.

Nexplay Esports capped off the Season Seven regular season at fourth place in Group B with a 6-7 standing. The team, though, suffered another first-round exit after receiving the boot from rookie Work Auster Force via a 1-3 result in the lower bracket.

Currently, the EVOS franchise has three MPL teams in EVOS Legends (Indonesia), EVOS SG (Singapore), and Suhaz EVOS (Malaysia).

The MPL Philippines Season Eight will open its doors on August 13.
