F2 Logistics romps hapless Cocolife to stay perfect

The F2 Logistics Cargo Movers continue to cruise to start the 2018 Chooks to Go-Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference, dominating the Cocolife Asset Managers, 25-13, 25-16, 25-8, at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

The three-time league champions brought the pain early and often in each set. F2 Logistics soared to a 15-8 lead in the first set, before breaking a 10-all tie in the second set with an 8-1 run. Comfortably ahead 19-5 in the third set, the Cargo Movers could afford to sub in six bench players to finish off the Asset Managers.

F2 Logistics head coach Ramil De Jesus credited their hot start to his team getting rest and focusing on their matches.

“Sabi ko naman before na kailangan ko lang na maka-recover ‘yung mga bata. Maganda talaga ‘yung epekto ng pahinga sa kanila and nakakakuha sila ng mas magandang connection sa loob ng court,” De Jesus said.

Veteran middle blocker Aby Maraño towed F2 Logistics with 16 points built on 10 attacks, three blocks, and three aces, while opposite hitter Kianna Dy managed 12 markers. F2 Logistics stifled the Cocolife offense, which managed just 13 attack points while giving away 15 errors.

Fil-American winger Kalei Mau had just five points after scoring double-digits in her first two outings.

The Cargo Movers (3-0) next clash with rivals Petron Blaze Spikers (2-0) on Saturday at the Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan. Cocolife (0-3) take on the Smart Giga Hitters (1-0) next Thursday, also at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
