Bali Pure washes out Creamline to enter Finals

Game Three had none of the drama and theatrics of Game Two; only Bali Pure’s dominance

The Purest Water Defenders made short work of the spunky Creamline Cool Smashers, 25-18, 25-13, 25-15, to book a seat in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference Finals at the PhilSports Arena.

Bali Pure muffled the Cool Smashers’ best attacking options and forced Creamline into several on-the-fly adjustments. In each set, Bali Pure took big leads and forced the Cool Smashers into different adjustments that never worked out. Creamline skipper Alyssa Valdez ended up playing opposite, which she had never done, to no avail.

“Creamline really came prepared in our last game. Lahat ng adjustment were really good. Kaya kami we just prepared for this game din. Sobrang ganda ng nilaro ng mga players mo kahit di ko sila masyadong kinausap. They showed a lot of maturity,” said Bali Pure head coach Roger Gorayeb.

Four Water Defenders scored in double-digits, with three-time NCAA MVP Grethcel Soltones and American import Jennifer Keddy each providing 13 points.

Bali Pure will face the winner of the Pocari Sweat-Power Smashers tiff in the best-of-three Finals, which begins on Saturday at the PhilSports Arena.

Thai import Kuttika Kaewpin and Valdez powered Creamline with 14 and 13 points, respectively.

The Cool Smashers take on the loser of the Pocari Sweat-Bali Pure match for third place, also on Saturday.

The Scores

Bali Pure (3) – Keddy 13, Soltones 13, Bualee 10, Sato 10, Malabanan 5, Sato 5, Pantone (L)

Creamline (0) – Kaewpin 14, Valdez 13, Schaudt 5, Galanza 1, Soriano 1, Remulla 1, Racraquin (L)
