SOURCE: Maraguinot to miss two weeks to rest right knee injury

The Ateneo de Manila University Lady Eagles might have to play the last stretch of the elimination round without ace hitter Jhoana Maraguinot.

According to a source within the team, Maraguinot was advised to rest a nagging knee injury for the next two weeks.UAAP-79-ADMU-vs.-UST-Maraguinot-7206 SOURCE: Maraguinot to miss two weeks to rest right knee injury ADMU News UAAP Volleyball - philippine sports news

This means that the open hitter will miss tomorrow’s showdown with the University of the East Lady Warriors and their Saturday clash with arch-rivals De La Salle University Lady Spikers, which could be the battle for the number one seed in the Final Four.

With a twice-to-beat advantage in tow, the Lady Eagles will have Maraguinot for the Final Four, which begins the Saturday after the Holy Week break.

Maraguinot will most likely still be in uniform for both matches. Depending on how the matches go and pn coach Tai Bundit’s discretion, Maraguinot might still play on Saturday against La Salle.

UPDATE: Maraguinot’s injury is on her right knee, not left as published during the first copy of this story.
