Adili family thanks supporters, opens financial aid channel after Ateneo tragedy

NCAA Season 94 Most Valuable Player Prince Eze has relayed that the family of late Ateneo de Manila University student-athlete Divine Adili is seeking financial assistance following the tragic passing of Adili last Monday in Aurora, Quezon.

Adili, 21, alongside fellow Rene Baterbonia, died in a drowning incident during a team-building activity.

As of Friday, Adili’s remains remain at Arlington Memorial Chapel and are kept in cold storage as arrangements are being made for his repatriation to Nigeria.

In the days following the arrival of his remains at Arlington, several foreign student-athletes — including Chibueze Ikeh and Dikachi Udodo — have visited the chapel to pay their respects and extend condolences to the grieving family.

Eze, a standout product of the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, has helped facilitate the communication of the Adili family’s appeal for support.

The family issued a statement expressing gratitude for the outpouring of sympathy and assistance:

The family of CHUKWUEMEKA DIVINE sincerely appreciates all the prayers, love, kindness, and support extended to us during this difficult time. Your comforting words, presence, and encouragement have been a great source of strength to our family as we mourn the loss of our beloved.

We are deeply grateful for your compassion and solidarity during this period of grief. May Almighty God richly bless each and every one of you for your generosity and heartfelt support.
